Day 01: Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (1 300m/4 260ft). we'll meet and transfer you to your hotel

Welcome to Nepal!

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our friendly team will be there to welcome you at the terminal gate. They will assist with your luggage and accompany you on a comfortable drive to your hotel, located in the heart of Thamel—the vibrant tourist center of the city. Thamel is filled with lively restaurants, cafes, shops, and cultural charm, making it a perfect place to begin your Nepal adventure.

Once you’ve checked into your hotel, you’ll have free time to explore the area at your own pace. Wander through the colorful streets, enjoy a relaxing spa session, or unwind at a cozy café or local pub. In the evening, we’ll gather for a warm welcome dinner where you’ll get your first taste of traditional Nepalese cuisine and hospitality. It’s the perfect, easygoing start to an unforgettable journey.

Your second day in Kathmandu begins with a breathtaking early morning mountain flight at 6:00 AM, offering incredible aerial views of the majestic Himalayas. Soar above some of the world’s highest peaks—Langtang Lirung, Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, and more—culminating in unforgettable panoramas of Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga. A helpful brochure and onboard commentary will guide you in identifying each peak along the way. This scenic flight is a perfect experience for those who aren’t trekking but still want to witness Nepal’s towering giants up close.

After your flight, our guide and driver will greet you at the airport for a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. The first stop is the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu shrines, followed by the awe-inspiring Boudhanath Stupa, a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhists.

Following a relaxing lunch break, the tour continues to Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar Square—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites rich in ancient palaces, temples, and intricate woodwork. To wrap up the day, enjoy a leisurely walk through bustling local markets, soaking in the sights, sounds, and energy of daily life in the capital, before heading back to your hotel.

Begin your day with an early morning visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill, this sacred site offers fresh mountain air, panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley, and a peaceful, spiritual atmosphere—an ideal way to start your morning. After soaking in the serene surroundings, return to your hotel to prepare for the day’s journey to Nagarkot, a peaceful hill station known for its natural beauty and Himalayan views.

On the way to Nagarkot, stop at the historic Bhaktapur Durbar Square, once a royal palace complex of the Malla kings. Stroll through beautifully preserved temples, traditional courtyards, and intricate woodwork that reflect the rich culture of the Newar people. You can also enjoy local pottery demonstrations, taste authentic Newari snacks, and explore the vibrant marketplace.

After the visit, continue your scenic drive to Nagarkot. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take a short evening walk to enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the Himalayan range. Spend the night in this peaceful retreat, resting in comfort and preparing for the magical morning views that await.

Start your morning in Nagarkot with a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas, followed by a hearty breakfast. Afterward, your driver will meet you at the hotel for a scenic journey to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha and one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the world.

Though the drive is long, it’s filled with natural beauty—cascading waterfalls, terraced hillsides, lush green valleys, and flowing rivers. As you descend into the Terai region, the scenery transitions into subtropical forests and expansive plains, offering a peaceful and picturesque experience throughout the day.

Upon arriving in Lumbini, check in at your hotel and take some time to freshen up and rest. In the evening, enjoy a gentle walk through the sacred garden, where you can soak in the calm, spiritual atmosphere. This quiet stroll through the heart of Buddha’s birthplace is a perfect way to reflect and relax after a full day of travel.

Embark on a full-day exploration of Lumbini, beginning at the sacred Maya Devi Temple, the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha. Inside, you’ll see the Marker Stone, which signifies the precise spot of his birth. Nearby stands the Ashoka Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC during his pilgrimage to honor this revered site.

Continue to the Sacred Garden, a peaceful UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with beautifully landscaped grounds, ancient ruins, and monasteries built by Buddhist communities from around the world. This tranquil setting offers a perfect space for quiet reflection and meditation.

Next, visit the monastic zone, where each monastery showcases the unique architectural styles, traditions, and spiritual practices of its country of origin—from Thailand and Myanmar to Germany and South Korea. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the global reach of Buddhism.

Conclude your tour at the impressive World Peace Pagoda, a symbol of harmony and unity, followed by a visit to the Lumbini Museum. Here, you’ll find a rich collection of Buddhist manuscripts, statues, and artworks that trace the evolution and global influence of Buddhism. This enlightening day offers a deep spiritual experience and insight into the life and legacy of Buddha.

Enjoy a scenic 5–6 hour drive from Lumbini to Pokhara, a journey that takes you through diverse landscapes—ranging from the flat plains of the Terai to the rolling hills of central Nepal. The route begins by passing through Butwal, a key transit hub connecting the southern plains to the hilly regions. As you leave Butwal behind, the road gradually climbs into the hills, revealing breathtaking views of terraced fields, dense forests, and distant Himalayan peaks.

Along the way, you’ll pass through charming towns and villages, offering glimpses into everyday rural life. The route also runs alongside the Trishuli River, popular for white-water rafting, adding to the beauty of the drive with its rushing waters and riverside scenery.

As you approach Pokhara, the magnificent Annapurna range and the distinctive Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain begin to fill the horizon. Once you check into your hotel, unwind with a peaceful sunset at Phewa Lake. End your day by exploring the vibrant Lakeside Market, a lively area filled with shops, cafés, and local charm—perfect for a relaxed evening stroll.

Your relaxing day in Pokhara begins with an early morning drive to Sarangkot, one of the best viewpoints in the region. Famous for its stunning sunrise views over the Himalayas and as a popular paragliding site, Sarangkot offers breathtaking panoramas of peaks like Annapurna and Machhapuchhre.

After taking in the sunrise, we’ll visit the International Mountain Museum, where you’ll discover fascinating exhibits on Himalayan mountaineering, local cultures, and the history of mountain exploration in Nepal.

Next, we head to the serene World Peace Pagoda, a symbol of harmony and peace, perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of Pokhara, Phewa Lake, and the surrounding mountains. The tour continues with a visit to Gupteshwar Cave, a sacred site with a hidden waterfall, followed by a stop at the dramatic Davis Falls, where water plunges into an underground gorge.

We’ll also explore Mahendra Cave, known for its impressive limestone formations, before wrapping up at the Gurkha Memorial Museum, which honors the bravery and legacy of Nepal’s legendary Gurkha soldiers.

After this enriching day, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. The evening is yours to relax or continue exploring the lively streets and lakeside charm of Pokhara.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast in Pokhara, we’ll begin our drive back to Kathmandu, following the scenic route along the Trishuli River. The journey offers stunning views of lush hillsides, terraced farms, and sparkling river landscapes—a relaxing and picturesque ride through Nepal’s heartland.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, your guide will assist you with check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to unwind and settle in. You may choose to explore the lively streets of Thamel, browse local shops for souvenirs, or simply relax at a café and soak in the local vibe. This easygoing evening gives you time to reflect on your journey and enjoy the charming energy of Kathmandu at your own pace.

Today is a leisure day to relax, shop, and explore more of Kathmandu at your own pace. You may choose to visit nearby attractions such as the peaceful Garden of Dreams or the historic Narayanhiti Palace Museum, once the royal residence of Nepal’s monarchy. Stroll through the bustling streets of Thamel, perfect for picking up souvenirs, handicrafts, or simply soaking in the lively local culture.
