Renjo La Pass is one of the most beautiful and less crowded high mountain passes in the Everest region of Nepal. It stands at an altitude of about 5,360 meters (17,585 feet) above sea level and offers some of the best panoramic views of Mount Everest and surrounding Himalayan peaks.
Renjo La Pass is located in the Khumbu region, which is the same area where Everest Base Camp lies. But unlike the main trekking route to Everest Base Camp, the trail to Renjo La Pass is more peaceful and quiet. It connects the Gokyo Valley with the Thame Valley and is a part of the Everest Three Passes Trek.
🏔️ Amazing Views: From the top of Renjo La Pass, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu—some of the world’s tallest mountains. You can also enjoy views of Gokyo Lakes, which are bright turquoise and very beautiful.
🧘♂️ Less Crowded: Compared to the busy EBC route, Renjo La is more peaceful. If you love nature and quiet mountain paths, this is perfect.
📸 Great for Photos: The trail is filled with glaciers, snowy mountains, stone houses, and blue lakes—perfect for photographers and nature lovers.
Renjo La Pass is challenging. It is a high-altitude trek, and the climb to the top is steep and long. You need to be physically fit and already acclimatized to the altitude. But don’t worry—with good preparation and a proper guide, many trekkers do it safely.
The best months to trek Renjo La Pass are:
Spring (March to May)
Autumn (September to November)
These seasons offer clear skies, good visibility, and moderate temperatures—ideal for trekking.
Absolutely, yes! Renjo La Pass is a hidden gem in the Everest region. It offers some of the best views without the crowds, and gives you a real adventure. If you want something more than just Everest Base Camp, Renjo La is a wonderful choice.
